Averice, who've been making music for several years, after numerous line-up, name changes and playing support to Rise Against, The Used and Story Of The Year, the Gold Coast four-piece have finally solidified into a tight-knit unit. Averice is composed of four members: lead singer/guitarist Tim Johnson (27); bass player Chris Stothart (26); lead guitarist Hiroaki Nishihara (27); and drummer Luke Johnson (23). Tim moved from Ulladulla, New South Wales to the Gold Coast six years ago and became friends with Chris while they were in another local band. Luke followed his older brother to the Gold Coast three years ago and they joined forces. Recent member Hiroaki; moved to the Gold Coast eight years ago from Switzerland via Japan. Tim, Chris, Hiro and Luke are buoyed by a love of punk, bands such as Strung Out, Rise Against, No Use For A Name and NOFX have influenced the band’s musical direction. Averice’s lyrics include issues concerning wealth, greed and power and when the audience enjoy the music and feel strongly they are also allowing their voices to be heard in a world of avarice (Averice). Averice have just completed recording four songs for a new EP at the lead singers home studio and the songs were mixed locally by Tremor Studios, all are now available for download on this page.

Averice are a punk band with melodic punk roots, a band that does not get caught up in overnight trends, but is very conscious of social and current issues affecting us all. So keep up on the space and check us out.

AUSSIE STYLE would like to INTRODUCING TO YOU: ISAAC PADDON...Musician, Surfer and builder of his own Dream.

Originally from Manly, on Sydney Northern beaches, Isaac developed a love of music at a young age.
He later settled on the Gold Coast where he learned to play guitar; surfing through the day and writing songs in beach car parks, or where ever he had a piece of paper and some sort of guitar.

Emerging onto the music scene in 2003 as a roots rock Artist, Isaac delivered a first taste of his music to listeners with the independent release of his first EP "Here comes the sun". The title track off the EP, a song written on a camping trip, sings about a typical Australian east coast camping scene, picturing surfing, storms, sun, sand and enjoying a beer around a campfire with friends. A scene which has influenced a lot of Isaac's life and music.

In January 2006 Isaac then independently released his second CD; a full length album entitled "A stones throw from home".

Since Isaac heritage stems a lot from a Caribbean back ground, and while reggae music plays a big role in Isaacs music taste, he also mixed blues, country, rock and folk into his songs, reflecting some of the many styles which he loves to listen to and is influenced by.

Ultimately it is Isaac's voice and the simplicity of his tunes that has attracted many to his songs, one of which is pleasantly easy to listen to, both Isaac with a band or playing solo stripped back to just an acoustic guitar and voice.

Isaac bases most of his playing around acoustic instruments and prefers to keep things with a raw stripped back sound both in recording and playing live. He also adds indigenous instruments into his sound at times, like the didgeridoo, and Caribbean steel drums.

AUSSIE STYLE has Isaacs' latest CD in the car and we listen to it everywhere we go...his music is easy to listen to, so we play it EVERYDAY! TRUE STORY!!!
